Lately, I have been chatting with family, friends and my beloved clients about my job title. Generally Danai (my senior stylist) and I are referred to as a fashion stylist, personal stylist or image consultant. This is definitely accurate as this is exactly what we do but I can't help but wonder about some of the life changing results from our work and how to define that.

I always ask my clients how it is they found Cinz and why they’ve decided to invest in our services. For some, it’s a personal style reinvention and wanting to feel better about themselves, which is a great initiative. But there are many who are going through serious life events and who have lost their confidence to deal with these issues direct and follow their hearts desires.

From relationships, to career and general day-to-day objectives, people come to me to improve their life. Now given some of you may think, how can a dress, a necklace or colouring my hair improve my life. And you are correct, directly it doesn’t. It’s how you feel when you make an effort to fix your appearance in the morning, wear something truly suited to you and make a visual impact on your peers.
I sometimes think about celebrity Nicole Richie. Nicole was best friend to the infamous Paris Hilton, partying herself into a sea of drugs and alcohol where she disrespected her body and health sporting terrible skin, weight gain and fashion that showed more skin that any of us needed to see.

In came Zoe Foster, celebrity stylist who reinvented her. Soon Nicole began covering up with flowing feminine dresses, she ditched the hair extensions for a more complimentary style and now she is a mother to two, a fashion designer and an author. Zoe gave Nicole the confidence to be successful and has contributed to turning her life around.

ANYBODY CAN DO THIS.
I don’t let celebrities, fashion trends or magazines dictate what my clients should buy and how they should dress but my job is to encourage people to break out of their comfort zones, transform their style and allow it to reflect their personality. We should celebrate who we are through style choices and if you exude that confidence, you will be amazed at how your life can change.
Go for that job promotion or salary increase, show your partner that you are not invisible and embrace your inner beauty. So I remain a personal stylist, image consultant and fashion stylist but my testimonials tell me I am so much more. Would love to hear your thoughts.
