I have been selected to style Alby Mangels on his return to Australia and I am thrilled! Alby is an adventure icon and I’ve been asked to transform him from wild man to professional executive. And what woman doesn’t like to makeover a man? It’s in our genes!

Alby is currently working on a new TV series and has just released his entire range of documentary adventures including 38 titles never seen before in Australia. Returning to inspire a new generation of adventurers, Alby has been invited by Pascoe Vale North Primary School in Melbourne to be “Principal for a Day.” This is where I come in.
Like all my clients, I will definitely incorporate his personal style and adventurous personality, which is a challenge I’m looking forward to! Supporting Australian labels is also a priority. Click here for contact details for corporate sponsorship and press enquiries.

Along with hair styling, Alby requires two outfits– one will be corporate and the other will be for outdoor activities/physical education. So gone is the stone wash denim and safari attire and based on customising a style to suit, I’ve already planned what I will do with him and I am now eagerly awaiting his return!
It was a fun process to plan this out so it got me thinking that it would also be fun to hear from you, my adventurous style lovers! I’m looking for the best suggestions for what YOU would like to see Alby in and to add a little incentive I’ll give a prize to the best suggestions. So below is some current pictures for your visualisation and here are some questions to consider.

-
What clothing brands and style do you think will suit Alby for each outfit – One for his formal role as principal and the other for outdoor activities/physical education?
-
What colours would you use?
-
How would you style Alby’s hair?
BEST SUGGESTIONS WIN! Comment below or on our Facebook page and the winner as judged by the CINZ team will receive a Cinz skincare pack worth over $120 So get suggesting and get creative! Competition closes Friday 25th November. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Anonymous commented on 13-Nov-2011 10:33 PM Hi Cindy! If you are going to style someone as iconic as Alby Mangles, it’s only fitting to put him into clothes that are just as iconic (and Australian) – R. M. Williams! Since he’s the adventure/bush, casual type of guy, anything other than a pair of

Victoria commented on 15-Nov-2011 02:48 AM Promoting Australian brands is certainly important. He looks good in blues that I know. I would think lightweight, natural fibers. Hair relaxed but trimmed. So excited to hear that he is getting back on the world stage. He still has a lot to offer, especially

Susan L'Huillier commented on 15-Nov-2011 01:20 PM Hi Cindy, What a season you have had, SJP and now Alby! I remember watching his shows as a child - a special event eating dinner with the TV on. As a principal Alby will need to look smart but approachable so dark cotton pants, an open shirt, no tie with

shorts and t-shirt is going to be formal enough for him with out having him feel overdressed and uncomfortable. My thoughts are a Nairne Shirt (blue/white stripe) with a pair of classic cut regular fit denim jean with a chestnut belt teamed up with a pair
of chestnut Craftsman boots. Add a Navy Belmore jacket for an even smarter look. A casual look would be a red Portsea polo with navy Mandurah shorts and a pair of navy blue Broadwater boat shoes and to top it all off (pardon the pun!) a navy longhorn cap.
Classic short back and sides for the hair – can’t go wrong with that. Perhaps a little roughed a-la David Beckham style for the front. Just my thoughts, but I know you will have him looking fab anyway! :) Promoting Australian brands is certainly important.

a pioneer in the video documentary field, and remains a legend in his own time.
Yes he is iconic and will be something that will be considered carefully, I can see you have put a lot of thought into this, well done, Cindy xx

Thanks for your comments on the clothes Victoria, and I agree with your sentiments. Cindy x
casual jacket. Blue is a fantastic colour for his eyes.. For a sporting look, a polo with shorts just above the knee and casual sneakers. The Australian shops that could reflect his rugged/natural personality are the ones that have an active yet laid back
style, ie. Country Road or even RM Williams.
Thanks Susan, I also watched him when I was growing up. Love the thought you put into dressing him. Cindy xx
Yes I understand what you mean, however, we can’t have him carrying out headmaster duties of a primary school and heading up school assembly dressed in a rugged pair of short shorts and not much else :) That’s my job, to have him
presenting appropriately for the occasion while carefully not losing who he is and not making him into something he is not.
Thanks for your comments, Cindy x
