The debate raging in the media this week over the plus sized runway show at Fashion Festival Sydney has been a little frustrating to say the least. Many of the writers along with the fashion industry just miss the point, but it is understandable when one's lively hood is based on sensationalising events and the other selling clothes, however, the downside to this is the average women is overlooked, yet again!

Dame Vivienne Westwood may be a highly credited designer but following her comments and advice regarding Kate Middleton’s personal style, I believe she should stick to what she does best - design dresses! How can someone comment on another person so critically when their style and appearance is not exactly amazing? If I were to describe Vivienne, it would be eccentric and ‘witchy poo’ with orange hair!

I do believe that Vivienne, like myself plays a valuable role in the fashion industry and should be in a position to provide style advice and comment.

Lately, I have been chatting with family, friends and my beloved clients about my job title. Generally Danai (my senior stylist) and I are referred to as a fashion stylist, personal stylist or image consultant. This is definitely accurate as this is exactly what we do but I can't help but wonder about some of the life changing results from our work and how to define that.
